The world appears to be plunged into darkness. From the Ukraine to Gaza and back, war is omnipresent. At home, I wake up every morning to the local news that we’ve had another shooting not far from my house. Couple that with the revelation of outrageous behavior in Washington, D.C. and you’ll be afraid to answer your front door.

A civilization in decline? Possibly. But I’m thinking about persons, individuals, you. How do we find our way through this jungle. I’ve been saying that we have to wake up to the reality of Evil, infiltrating every aspect of our world. My hope is that you are discovering that you need protection not only from what you see … but from what you can’t see. Pure old-fashioned Evil.

Can the demonic permeate religious groups? Here’s an example.

A friend had been invited to teach on spiritual warfare to a group of young people. As he was talking, a twenty-five-year-old man began mimicking him in a distracting manner. John kept speaking but could tell the obnoxious guy was calling attention to himself and demeaning the teaching. For some strange reason, the heavily-set guy appeared to be trying to sabotage the teaching.

John simply ignored him while the man kept trying to distracting the teacher with strange facial aberrations and movements with his hands. Finally, John came to the end of his teaching. “Would anybody like me to pray with them?” he asked.

The heckler immediately defiantly stood up and crossed his arms over his chest. John stared him in the eyes and prayed, “In the name of the Lord Jesus, I command all evil and every demonic presence, every evil spirit begone, defeated and expelled.”

The man’s face fell; he shook and dropped his arms.

“In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, I demand all evil intrusion stop!”

The large intrusive guy suddenly did a back flip and landed in the row behind himself. Chairs scattered and he fell to the floor. The man started to slither across the tile and sticking his tongue out like a hissing snake. The rest of the group started backing away.

“By the power of Jesus Christ, I demand that the demon of snake leave!” John shouted, “Get out of him and be gone right now!

The man rolled over and stopped. After a few moments, he sat up and shook his head, trying to figure out where he was. John bent over and ask if he knew what had happened. “Why am I laying on the floor?” the young man ask. He remembered nothing that had happened.

Can Evil enter a religious group? Evil can enter anything and go to work. You may avoid all appearances and expressions of the demonic. Still, you must pray to be free of such invasions of Evil. Demons hate the name of Jesus and run. That’s the answer we must remember. And it will be enough. Don ‘t hesitate to call on Jesus for His intervention.

Remember miracles never cease.
