Blog 23 January 16, 2017 MIRACLES NEVER CEASE!

Robert Wise explores the world of Divine intervention from an objective point of view. Can 21st Century people believe that the hand of God touches people in today’s world? Read and you’ll find new insights.

BUT BEFORE WE BEGIN… On this Wednesday, Jan. 18,10:00 a.m. I begin a new weekly radio broadcast over the internet AND there’s been a change of address: The correct one is www.blogtalkradio.com/miraclesnow TUNE IN ON THE INTERNET

I have a ton of material that doesn’t fit the current blog format and I want to talk more extensively about what I’ve discovered. You will be fascinated!

All you have to do is turn on your internet with speakers and click on the above address. You don’t have to listen at 10:00 a.m. Pick out an hour that fits your schedule and you can at any time pick up my new radio show – MIRACLES NEVER CEASE.

Each week the programs will be available at any time you click on.

Why am I doing this? As I wrote in the first blog, my goal is to challenge people to become open to the spiritual dimension that exists around them. In today’s world, the vast majority of the population simply don’t know that an encounter with God is possible. The truth is that the Holy Spirit is available to anyone who will allow Him to speak to them.

I’ve met many people who are outside the church who experienced these encounters with power, truth, and light. Being outside the church community has nothing to do with the availability of God’s power.

I will be sharing what I have learned as I talked with a multitude of people who experience divine interventions. Their stories will inspire, challenge, and intrigue you. Some church groups claim that miraculous encounters ended with the death of the last Apostle John. Unfortunately, they simply don’t know church history. Divine interventions that brought healing, renewal, recovery, hope, and direction never stopped. Tune in and listen to what I’ve found to be true.

If you have questions you would like for me to address or subjects you’d like discussed, send them to me at miraclesnow2017@gmail.com. I hope to hear from you.

So sit back, turn up the volume and get ready for important discoveries!

GUIDANCE FROM BEYOND

The New Years is already swirling along! And we need all the encouragement we can find. Sometimes angelic guidance breaks through in ways that we would never expect Here’s an experience of extraordinary help.

Rita Jester knows all about pain. Her son David was killed in a car wreck. An oncoming car swerved across two lanes and hit him head on. David’s death destroyed Rita’s faith. Her anguish was almost too great to bear.

Rita struggled to keep going and finally decided that she would take the matter to court. Lawyers were found that could help file a suit and the legal scenario began to play out. Finally, the day came for her to meet with the attorney and decide what would happen in court. Rita felt confused and wasn’t sure that she should even proceed. In the flow of the conversation, the lawyer told Rita that during the trial it would be necessary for her to see gruesome pictures of her dead son.

How could she do such a thing? Rita struggled in even thinking about the car wreck, much less seeing the pictures. No. NO! She couldn’t even imagine such a thing! Under her breath, she began crying out, “David! David! Wherever you are! Please help me.”

Before she could go forward she needed some sign of David’s approval, but, of course, he was gone. Suddenly, her cell phone rang. Rita glanced at the identification window. How could it be that someone would call? She had an unlisted number that no one could obtain. Leslie Draper was calling.

Leslie is a personal counselor with an unusual ability to communicate with angels. She often helps people by conveying what angels tell her for them. She had been driving down the highway when an unknown phone number kept running through her mind. She had no idea what it meant, but when such occurrences happened, she always knew it was important to jot the number down. She pulled over to write it down. An angel began to whisper in her ear. “Call this number and tell the person who answers that David says to cancel everything.”

Leslie had no idea what all of this meant or who she was calling, but she knew she must try. She dialed the number. Rita answered. Leslie conveyed the message that she did not personally understand.

Rita was overwhelmed! She immediately cancelled the lawsuit. The angel’s message lifted her out of the emotional struggle and brought reassurance. Rita’s faith was recovered. Her faith had been restored. She had the direction she needed.

SURPRISING CHANGE

Generally people form their expectations of what God can do and does from what they’ve read in the Bible —only. For example, if a healing doesn’t occur instantly, they decide prayer doesn’t work. If Welch’s grape juice doesn’t become Gallo wine, they are discouraged. Let’s be clear, there’s no problem with what is in the Bible, but the stories must be seen as examples of a starting point and not a finish line.

We must add continuing human experience and consider the Bible as a spring board. The scriptures call us to open our eyes and hearts to greater expectations. Charlotte had such an experience.

In August, 2012, Charlotte had a total knee replacement. She knew it was coming and had put it off too long. Of course, knee replacements can be painful and Charlotte struggled. She knew about Leslie Draper and her ministry that stemmed from contact with the angels. Some people might consider that approach on the bizarre side, but Charlotte needed help. And Leslie was anything but bizarre.

From years of working with human need, Leslie had learned how to listen to angels. She silently turned to them to hear their direction for what should happen next. In Charlotte’s case, the direction was for an “energy healing.” Interesting indeed.

Angelic direction suggested that the problem was that Charlotte’s body was treating the knee replacement as a foreign object and attempting to reject the intrusion. The body’s resources were focused on getting rid of the artificial knee rather than embracing it.

Leslie came and prayed for a shift in the body’s energy. Her prayers and ministry were aimed at bringing the knee into harmony with the body. The sessions were aimed at restoring concord in Charlotte’s entire system.

Thirteen days after the surgery, the doctor took the staples out. To his shock, there was little swelling. Healing was far better than he expected. The next step was the physical therapist doing a knee flexion measurement on the knee. He, too, was shocked and surprised. The therapist told Charlotte that in two to three months the goal was a measurement of 120 degrees. In three weeks, Charlotte measured 128 degrees.

Charlotte had a miracle.

It wasn’t walking on water – but it was walking across her living room with no pain. The heavenly Father cares about such things. Expect Him to care for you – without defining how, when, and where His response will come.

TAPPING INTO LIFE

Following a slim victory by Oklahoma State University, football head coach Mike Gundy explained the achievement by saying, “the mind is the most important part of the body.” He believed what surges through the head is more powerful than what runs through the muscles. Very interesting.

I would add that what keeps everyone functioning is more than just positive thinking. Lose a desire to live and you soon die. With an absolute commitment to life, you can recover. Life is far more than just keeping on being mobile. The dictionary defines life as a “principle or force.” Coach Gundy tapped into this idea when he suggested that the team had a mindset that motivated them to win.

In my search to understand miracles, I’ve discovered that the invisible force called “life” is a vital part of what renews, regenerates, and revitalizes people. No matter how ill one might be, what’s in the mind still tops the list for a means of recovery.

Reclaiming “life” can be one of the most important ingredients in a divine intervention.

Some years ago, I was called to the hospital because my dear friend and parishioner Jim was critically ill. The doctor attempted to remove his gall bladder cystoscopicaly but left tissue behind that had produced a deadly illness. When I entered the room, a sense of death hung in the air. I sensed that life was draining out of this man’s system. He was slipping away.

My wife and I began to pray for his recovery. In particular, I placed my hands on Jim and asked the Holy Spirit to pour “life” into Jim. Often when we pray for life, the power begins to flow through us just as electricity comes down a wire into our house. That night in the hospital, we became conductors in much the same way that wire is a transmitter of power.

Do I understand what I am describing? No, not really. Over the years, I’ve asked many medical doctors to define life. What is it? I’m still waiting for a definitive answer. They can tell me what death is – but not life!

I’ve come to the conclusion that life is the possession of God and comes from him alone. Science fiction aside, we cannot create life – but we can convey it through praying.

As my wife and I prayed for Jim, the atmosphere in the room began to change. The extreme pain in Jim’s side subsided. His color improved. We kept praying. Over the next few days, he steadily improved and was soon released. Jim recovered.

A divine intervention? Definitely. The Holy Spirit used us as a connection and poured renewed life into Jim. Can I prove it? No. I can only answer, “he was dying and is now alive.”

Think about it. You might be able to become a conductor of life.

FINDING THE PATH

I became interested in this subject because of a totally unexpected happening. A friend had invited me to attend a non-denominational gathering called Camp Farthest Out, a name given from the place where the movement began. The group emphasized love and healing prayer for all needs. I was a college student who certainly wasn’t into that type of expression, but I was in for a big surprise.

During an afternoon prayer session, I witnessed a woman recover sight in an eye that had been blind since she was five-years old. I was shocked, but knew I had stumbled on to some type of new paradigm I couldn’t explain or understand. Students in my university would not have believed in such a thing, but I had seen it with my own eyes.

Ten years later I came down with acute Nephritis, a serious kidney disease, causing my kidneys to begin shrinking. Once shrinkage begins, there was no cure at that time except to go on dialysis (not much hope there for a young man four decades ago). Later in another blog, I will describe the amazing experience that not only cured my illness but restored my kidneys. I had received a miracle (when I wasn’t even open to such a possibility).

When I tried to tell ministers and pastors that I had experienced a healing, most looked at me like I was still sick. The sympathetic didn’t know how to respond. Fundamentally, no one knew how to make any sense of my recovery. They just let it go.

That’s the problem. In most of today’s churches, folks don’t know what to say and let the subject drop. Pastors who don’t want to be thought of as fanatics won’t explore the subject. A high percentage of television evangelists have been discredited and clergy don’t want to go through that washing machine ringer. The subject of miracles simply hasn’t been considered. My concern is to see this blindness healed.

What can we learn from these two experiences that initiated my interest in miracles?

First, illness, sickness, and brokenness are an invitation for God to work. While disease and disaster often make us run for cover because nothing seems to work, they are also an invitation to turn to our heavenly Father with new expectations for His touch. God works directly and indirectly. Sometimes, He uses doctors, hospitals, and surgery. On other occasions, the Lord works directly. The basic issue is to recover trust in Him.

Second, we need to become open to trusting Him in every situation. Regardless of how events transpire, we expect Him to accomplish His purposes. Many people never pause to recognize they are simply not open to seek a Divine intervention. Open the doors of your heart and see what follows.

AND WHY DO MIRACLES HAPPEN?

Frankly, I don’t know.

Miracles are one of the mysteries of God. A mystery doesn’t mean we’re not smart enough to understand. Rather, that there are no human analogies to explain what is beyond our comprehension and everyday observations. For example, what is beyond infinity? No one knows because we cannot go there. The final explanation for why a Divine intervention occurs is in the mind of God – and we sure can’t go there.

Explaining why miracles happen or don’t happen is God’s business. Having put the ball in the heavenly Father’s court allows me to sit back and shrug. However, that is exactly what I don’t want to do. I write these weekly blogs because I have stumbled on to some answers for how we can position ourselves to receive a Divine blessing as well as participate in an ongoing ministry that can bless other people. I am sharing my discoveries in hopes of encouraging others to join the search for greater understanding and insight. You can be part of that adventure.

The problem is that most theologians, pastors, priests, denominations, and churches are avoiding the subject and would probably be scandalized by what I am suggesting. They are all in different ways products of the secular age in which we are living. Secularity has become a box that shuts out the immediate presence of God. When the world was created, God gave us free will which means when we say “no” to Him, the Almighty doesn’t break the doors down to prove that He’s here. God accepts your “no” at face value. The current religious scene is saying their “no” through indifference, disbelief, doubt, and close minded systems of thought.

But maybe you’re thinking, “if all these people Robert Wise is writing about had a miracle, why not me? Again, that’s a more complicated question than it appears to be. Every individual situation is different and the answers would be different for every person. However, I am describing principles that can be of significant help.

So far, we’ve taken a brief look at a pastor who had a prayer gift, a woman who hears angels tell her what to do, and a woman with an aneurysm who trusted the promises of the Bible.

The common denominator in each of these instances has been obedience to their faith, a strong trust and commitment to what their faith promised. At the same time, there are folks out there who experienced miracles with little or limited faith. I’m still working to understand how these encounters are alike and different. We keep walking into a mystery.

In the following weeks, we’ll continue to explore these often unexpected experiences to see what we can discover. At this point, my suggestion is stay tuned. Be open to the possibilities. We’ve taken on a big subject, but it is more than worth the effort to see what we can discover.
