A WALK INTO HEAVEN!

            Sarah Coleman certainly knows what can happen in a near-death experience. Having worked as an Emergency Room nurse for years, she’d seen it all come through their swinging doors. Because Sarah had always been a highly rational person, she had no expectation of something supernatural occurring to her. However, she got up early one morning and went out for a walk. That’s when her world changed!

            Sarah was crossing the pathway when a car came flying down the street. The distracted driver was texting away on the cellphone when the car smashed into her. She was rushed to an emergency room with no expectation of survival.

            But where was Sarah?

            Surrounded by pure white light that became vivid colors,  she had never seen such brilliance. Joy and love became tangible objects. Out of this heavenly atmosphere, her long-deceased father stepped forward. He assured her not to be afraid. The best was yet to be.

            Abruptly, the entire scene changed. From out of another explosion of light, Jesus stepped forth. Sarah Coleman dropped to her knees, overwhelmed by the sight.  Jesus placed his hand on her shoulder and told her he was going to show her four events she was to witness and share.

            The Great Distraction had swept across the world. People’s attention was focused on their cellphone, television, radio, media, on and on. They were not paying attention to the important realities surrounding them. The focus on the temporal kept them from seeing the eternal.

            The Great Deception came with promises of peace and well-being that were actually inter-mingled with lies. People had false hopes because Evil had  slipped deception into their dreams. Millions of good people were looking in the wrong places.

            The Great Awakening was coming.  A new birth of faith would appear bringing healing, miracles, and reconciliation. Many would be mocked and even persecuted for their faith, but the revival of sustaining faith would carry them through. Jesus would always be with them.

            The Great Return would come with  the clouds parting and the world-wide revelation of Jesus being made known. Even people who had never believed would bend the knee. The promise was not that far away.

            After Sarah absorbed these insights, it was time to return. The glorious light faded and she was back in her body. The paramedics were startled and shocked. “She’s back!” someone cried out. They were equally amazed at her quick and total recovery.

            Sarah Coleman returned home to share what she had seen.

 It’ up to us to listen.

ANGELS ABOUND

            Interesting enough, the majority of Americans believe in angels. In an age dripping with skepticism, people still hold the conviction that angels are at work around them. The idea of Guardian Angels is an enduring popular conviction. My personal understanding was greatly challenged and expanded when I came to know Leslie Draper. To my astonishment, I discovered the young woman had an extraordinary ability to communicate with angels. She listened to them and helped people find direction and solutions to problems. I was amazed.

            How does such work? For starters, let me suggest a beginning point. Ever have a totally unexpected thought run through your mind that seemed to come out of nowhere? It turned out to be an important insight that made a difference. What if that impulse turned out to be your Guardian Angel offering direction? The next time you get one of those moments, stop and ask, “Is that you? My Guardian Angel? What is your name?” Sound a little far out? When I tuned in, it became a turning point in my spiritual journey.

            As I watched Leslie work with hurting people, I witnessed the guidance of angels making a significant difference in their lives. On one occasion, a woman called crying hysterically and uncontrollably. Angelic intervention clarified that the problem wasn’t at all what she thought. Leslie was directed to recognize that an outside force was working on the woman, creating the chaos. As Leslie prayed over the woman, her prayers were a call for the hand of God to move against the source of the problem. The session became a struggle, but Leslie continued to pray as the angel directed. The client was restored, and the condition disappeared.

            Could you do this? Absolutely. Should you have a need, don’t hesitate to ask your Guardian Angel for assistance. If nothing happens, don’t give up. Most of us need help in learning how to focus on our prayers. Practice does make perfect. Keep trying. And along the way, you might ask your Guardian Angel for a name. See what comes to mind. Just as you respond when someone calls you by name, angels do the same. Many times, the angelic realm speaks to us while we are asleep. In those instances, the encounter has far more substance than a simple dream.

            Sounds far out. For most people it would be because they may believe in angels but never expect to encounter one. Here’s where you start. Change your expectations. Expect guidance and assistance. It all comes in the package of believing in your heavenly Father and asking his Holy Spirit to fall on you. Along the way, expect your Guadian Angel to be there.        

            Remember: miracles never cease.

ALICE HAS A MIRACLE

I’d known Alice Collier for a number of years when she asked me to use a pseudonym in sharing her experience.  A bright, attractive middle-aged mother of three children, Alice felt secure in her marriage. Since her husband was a doctor, money had never been an issue. Never a highly emotional person, Alice had always be rational to the point of being highly analytic and easily using numbers.

She discovered her husband had developed some kind of emotional problem that she couldn’t understand. With episodes of being distanced, he had become silent in talking about himself and their marriage. Alice went out for a walk thinking about what was wrong. She felt rejected with no place to turn. The marriage was disintegrating as she was coming back, she spiritually heard words telling her “She was discarded”.

For the first time in her life, Alice realized she had a physical enemy, a specific person who wanted to destroy her. Another woman was after her husband. She seemed to be sinking into the ground and filled with fear. She ran into the house and grabbed her Bible.

Alice always felt God spoke to her through the scripture. As she opened the Bible, Isaiah 41:14 fell before her. “Fear not … I will help you,” says the Lord.” Because God spoke to her through the Bible. Now she knew God had not rejected her.

That night Alice realized that her marriage was over and she again was filled with dread and a profound sense of loss. In the darkness, she went into her closet and closed the door. Kneeling on the floor, Alice again poured out her brokenness and grief. All through the night, she cried and sobbed, pouring out her anxiety before God and claiming His promises to help her. As the earliest rays of the rising sun began to pour through her windows, Alice realized a figure in a robe was physically standing in front of her. She looked into the face of Jesus as he raised his hand and blessed her. Alice was overwhelmed but restored. Not only had God promised to help, but He also literally quenched her fear. The living Lord was with her indeed!

Alice raised her hands and started shouting, “I love you God, more than anything in my life, I love you.”

She had always worried that she didn’t love God as she should, but that was changed.

As He sustains us in our hours of need, our heavenly Father causes us to love Him as we should. When we know He loves us, our lives are filled with joy even in our hour of desperate need.

            In our darkest hour, the Lord Jesus is standing in the shadows whether we see Him with the clarity that Alice did or not. While it may not seem so at that moment, He will be guiding with a miraculous love.

            Remember: miracles never cease.

HOW TO KILL A MIRACLE

               Delores Winder received one of the most remarkable miracles in our time. Facing death, Delores was terminally ill with pseudoarthrosis and had been wearing a body cast for 14 years. There was no known medical cure and Delores stayed in constant pain, literally living on tranquilizers. Delores knew her time was limited. Someone suggested that she attend a Methodist conference on the Holy Spirit in Dallas, Texas.

            Delores grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and had heard of Kathryn Kuhlman who once lived in the area. She was known as a “faith healer” and a controversial person. By this time Ms. Kuhlman was on television, but Delores didn’t watch. Nevertheless, she had a conviction that she should attend the convention center and had to be carried inside. In Kathryn’s usual flamboyant manner, she floated across the stage and began talking and praying.

            Delores suddenly felt like her legs were on fire. She was carried on to the stage and discovered her entire body was being restored. Delores was wondrously healed! As she was restored, Kathryn Kuhlman told her, “Now you have work to do.”

            That work became praying for people. On one of these occasions, Delores was praying with a lady who had been crippled with arthritis. As they prayed, Delores felt that the woman had a problem with unforgiveness. When she inquired, the woman said, “No, I’ve forgiven everyone. However, Delores kept feeling the lady harbored resentment.  As she kept asking, the woman insisted there was no problem. Then, a word drifted across Delores’ mind, Brother.

            As Delores pressed, the woman admitted she had a brother but had “x’d” him out of her life. Couldn’t be him. Delores stared. How could the woman claim no animosity when she clearly had an ongoing struggle with her brother for twelve years? The conflict had to be resolved if healing was to follow.  Delores discovered the woman only lived two doors away from her brother!  Two doors distance had resulted in crippling arthritis.

            How do you destroy the possibility of a miracle? It isn’t hard. Just be resentful and unforgiving. That’s all it takes. Millions with issues have continually cried out  to God while still harboring resentment and bitterness. They believe in God, but not in keeping their slate clean.

            Jesus made it clear in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) that we must get things right with everyone before we come before the Lord. Wherever you are in your life’s journey, don’t kill the possibilities of restoration by harboring animosity or indignation. That’s how you stay open to the possibility of a miracle.

            Remember: miracles never cease.

THE OPERATION WAS INEVITABLE UNTIL…

            Sure, there are quacks around and charlatans that “fake” the intervention of God. At the same time, gifted believers can provide wonderful results.  The first time I attended a Kathryn Kulman service I had no idea what to expect. By the time I left two and a half hours later, I was overwhelmed. I realized empowered people were endowed with a capacity to bring healing results.

            Patricia Robinson discovered the same by accident. An x-ray on her left knee revealed osteoarthritis. The cartilage had worn away along with bone spurs creating pain. She found it hard to accept this result and went for a second opinion. An Orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Consultants in Minneapolis confirmed the earlier diagnosis. Pat needed knee replacement. Surgery was scheduled.

            She dreaded the idea. As Pat studied the preparation book given by the surgeon, Pat also started praying… praying hard. From her study of the Bible, she embraced her heavenly Father as Jehovah Rapha, her healer.

            Someone noticed that a healing crusade was coming to the Target Center in Minneapolis. Other friends from her church were going. Couldn’t hurt anything. Why not?    

            When Pat and her husband arrived, the building was already crowded and they had to sit in the balcony. They argued with the usher that they needed to be down front because of her problem. The usher assured them “when the anointing comes, you’ll get it right in your chair.” They had no choice but to settle in.

            People shared testimonies. The evangelist preached and then interceded for people lined up before him. Pat watched as people were decisively healed.

            Near the end of the service, the evangelist suddenly looked up in the balcony. “Someone up there is scheduled for surgery next week.” He pointed to where Pat was sitting. “Cancel your surgery. You are healed.”

            Pat could hardly believe her ears. Was it her? Seemed to be, but was it too good to be true? By the time they arrived home, she had her answer. She could run up and down the stairs easily and with no pain. She was healed!

            When she called to halt surgery, Pat shared her experience with an amazed doctor.  Now years later, Pat remains healed. The trip to the crusade was everything she needed. She had a miracle.

            The next time such a crusade comes to your town investigate and if the reports hold up, don’t be afraid to attend and reach out. Could be your opportunity to join Pat in praising Jehovah Rapha.

WHEN THE DARKNESS DIED

            Easter is the celebration of the amazing transforming miracle of light. The Light has shined into the darkness and the darkness has never overcome it. On Easter we remember how the darkness of death was dispelled.

            No matter where you look in the world, you will find cemeteries. At the edge of every town, there is a graveyard and everyone knows that’s where they will eventually reside. We try to avoid the fact, but in the moments when we are most lucid, we recognize the inevitable. One day we will be there.

            And then Easter morning comes.

            The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead proclaims that Light has shined into the darkness of the grave and the darkness has not over come it. Easter proclaims that every tomb is now filled with Light and the darkness cannot halt the penetrating glow.

            That’s the miracle of Easter.

            Our worst fear has been conquered. Death has no power over us. Every dark night will give way to a new day of promise. When church choirs sing, “Christ the Lord is risen today,” they are singing to the past, the present, and the future, that no amount of darkness will ever stop the Light.

            That is the greatest miracle of all.

            And that miracle never ceases.

            AWAKENED TO THE LIGHT

            Miracles come in all shapes and sizes. Often the divine touch comes in a way that is unexpected. Elaine Stephenson had just such an experience.

            On February 3, 2021, Elaine was finished with her usual early morning two hours of “layered” prayer. Still battling an illness, something unusual started to appear.  A deeply personal vision began to emerge.

            Elaine began picturing her body and ordering all the negatives to leave every part of her. She prayed for Jesus to fill every cell with his healing water followed by his healing touch. Next, she asked for his healing light to surge in.  Elaine began asking for the prayers of the many people who prayed for her need to flow through her body. As the prayer time came to an end, she gave thanks and praise to Jesus for hearing her prayers.

            Almost as an afterthought, Elaine asked, “…Jesus, would you take my sack with you when you go.” She was referring to a hideous, misshaped roll of fat that had formed across her lower abdomen. While struggling with her illness, Elaine had lost a substantial amount of weight in a short period of time. The result had created the bulge around her waist. Elaine had barely gotten those words out of her mouth when she sensed a change.

            Directly in front of her, she envisioned a circle with a line forming in the center, almost like a stick figure being drawn. As the line continued to extend, it started making a letter. In the center of the circle the bold capital letters formed making a giant “I AM.” She immediately thought that Jesus was saying “I AM with you.” Elaine knew her prayers had been answered. Tears began to run down her cheeks.

            ( Exodus 3:13-14 relates that Moses discovered the name of God to be in Hebrew YHWH or  I AM).

            The letter of the I AM glowed boldly across her dark room. Each letter was printed on a shape like a child’s building block. The colors glowed with an other worldly magnificence.  Long after the image fade, the letters were etched in her mind. She was healed.

            Finally, Elaine woke her husband and related the experience. He too was amazed. They agreed her experience must be shared with others. Oh by the way. the sagging sack around her waist was gone.

            Remember miracles never cease.

MIRACLE AT THE END OF A COUCH

With her bright red-hair and rambunctious style, elderly Ruth Eaton was one of the most delightful persons I’ve ever known. Ruth had been a member in two churches that I pastored and was always on the go. Visiting a friend in a nursing home, 86 year-old Ruth discovered that many of these “old” people had no one left who cared for them. She simply couldn’t let this be!

            Ruth Eaton made it her job to find a gift for every lonely person in a nursing home in Oklahoma City. She watched for specials in the newspaper and came up with everything from women’s socks to men’s underwear. Her living room was piled high with boxes and wrapping paper for her “best buys” being prepared for delivery on Christmas Eve.

 The work she began on their behalf never stopped until Ruth died at age 93. But her encounter with the miraculous sustained her through all those years.

            Ruth’s only daughter had died at age 44. I had the service for her and knew that the death had nearly killed Ruth. At that time, I couldn’t fully comprehend how the affect lingered for years. Only after the death of my oldest son did I realize how difficult it is to deal with the death of a child. Ruth didn’t speak of her experience often, but it was always there.

            On this particular Friday, I told my secretary not to let anyone in or any phone calls get through until I had my sermon completed. Thirty minutes later, I could hear Ruth raising a ruckus. “I don’t care what he said!” she yelled at the secretary. “I demand to speak with him NOW!” And in came Ruth.

            She had been sitting on her couch wrapping presents when she began to think about her beloved daughter and wondered where she was today. At the same time, Ruth thought about her mother who had died many decades earlier.

            Ruth abruptly had the strangest feeling. She looked down at the end of the couch and there stood her mother and daughter. Though they had been many years apart in age, they both looked exactly the same age at about 25. Ruth stared in amazement. Mother and daughter smiled back at her, reflecting their joy at what she was doing. The three of them seemed to communicate telepathically, sharing their love and devotion.

            Ruth looked away, trying to comprehend. When she turned back, they were gone. For a long time, Ruth sat there in astonishment, trying to grasp what she had experienced. Whatever else Ruth might have been uncertain about, there was no question in her mind, but that she had been visited by her deceased mother and her own daughter.

            Ruth’s view of eternity had been assured. Scripture offers us the same assurance even without her experience. “This is the record that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (I John 5:11) That’s your opportunity!

            Remember. Miracles never cease.
