WHEN EVIL ATTACKS

We are living in a trying time. People don’t want to talk about the Iranian war and opinion is sliding to the negative side. Many people feel hopeless and unable to make a difference in a stressed-out world. Under such circumstances many people often turn to drugs or other substances to relieve the tension. They need an eternal answer that restores hope.

When Maria (name changed for anonymity sake) came in, she had just taken 10 Valium and was completely strung out. Despondent, Maria manifested suicidal signs. She needed serious help and was open to entering a medical health facility. From somewhere, she had swiped a portion of the Eucharist, the Holy Communion, that she was keeping in her pocket. The truth was that she had signed a blood contract with Satan and stolen the Communion wafer in order to desecrate it. In her struggling condition, she still wanted to cancel or break this contract.

The therapist asked her to empty her pocket. Maria reached in and pulled out a deck of Tarot cards, the Communion wafer and the contract. However, when Maria laid the wafer on the table, she began to shake. Her words became jumbled, almost inaudible. The therapist put the wafer in an envelope.

Leaning forward, the counselor said, “Maria, I’d like to pray for you. I’d like to pray a binding prayer to change the hold Evil has on you. You need to be set free from that force.”

When the counselor started to pray, Maria’s face became distorted. Her eyes started to roll. As the therapist prayed, Maria reached over and grabbed the envelope. When the counselor tried to take the envelope out of her hands, Maria held on with superhuman strength.She began making inhuman groans. A strange voice came out of her mouth, proclaiming she was marked as a pig for the devil. Maria smashed the envelope in her hands, crumbling the wafer and throwing it on the floor.

The therapist didn’t flinch but kept praying a binding prayer, calling on the Holy Spirit for strength and the ability to repel Lucifer. After several minutes, Maria reached for the contract. In anguish and shaking, she began to tear up the blood contract. The counselor reached over to anoint her hand to gain complete freedom from Evil. Suddenly an external force ripped her hand away from him and slung it against the wall. Nevertheless, the counselor helped her to confess her faith in Jesus Christ, even though she did so with difficulty.

That night when the counselor brought the broken wafer home with the contract, he threw both in the fireplace to burn as a respectful act of cleansing. The odor was not that of burning paper but burning hair.

Sound wild? Sure, but people everywhere are caught in a grip of evil that must be broken by a divine intervention. Scripture recognizes that this world is filled with turmoil, but the Holy Spirit imparts the joy of the Lord. Don’t look for an external crutch; reach for an internal assist than comes from the Holy Spirit.

Remember: miracles never cease.
